A little note... |
Art has been important to me since I was very young. As a child, I loved to draw and paint. In college I majored in painting, but I gave it up for a career as a dental technician...an art in its own right. When I retired and missed creating something every day, I took up my paint and brushes again and never looked back.
When I get an idea for a painting, there is usually a story to tell, or a lighting effect to chase, or a wonderful expression of nature that I want to point out. Then the challenge to paint it becomes the goal. And the painting becomes a puzzle to solve. Somewhere in the middle of it all, I am ready to give up and throw it away. If I persevere, sometimes, there is something to hang. I am pleased to have been accepted into some well-respected shows and to have won several awards. I continually try to learn and improve my skills and have taken many workshops from other wonderful artists whose work I respect. I am always striving to improve my techniques and learn new ways to create something that will delight and inspire someone else, as well as myself. There are so many exciting possibilities. I hope you will enjoy my paintings as much as I have enjoyed creating them. |
